The Uganda Cricket Association won the ICC GLobal Awards 2020 for cricket for good social impact initiative of the year. Cricket For Good was originated as the ICC’s global community outreach programme steered at channelling the vast power and reach of cricket to positively impact the lives of children and families worldwide.
Uganda Cricket Association chairman, Bashir Badur Ansasira stated how the UCA went on to help the underprivileged teachers who are working in rural schools and poor students who are in need of help in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is some kind of work that comes out from the Uganda Cricket and we are proud of what we are doing. We try our best to follow and support the vision of ICC of spreading the game. Yes, it’s a very big thing for the Uganda Cricket Association and the entire country that such a touching reward comes back to Uganda as a country”, Bashir Badur concluded.
