UK PM Boris Johnson offers his support to the Tokyo Olympics

Prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson intimated his big support towards the Tokyo Olympics during his meeting with Japan’s Yoshihide Suga on the sidelines of the Group of Seven summit. He greeted the efforts to make sure that the games can safely take place.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic games were postponed due to the Pandemic situation and had got scheduled for July 23.

Boris Johnson at the meeting on the sidelines of the Group of Seven summit in Carbis Bay concurred with Suga on working together to avoid issues from trade and technology and to defend the climate.

“Prime minister Boris Johnson expressed his support for the Tokyo Olympics. He welcomed Japanese efforts and ensured that the games can take place safely,” said a spokesperson after the meeting.

The government of Japan and the Olympic organisers told that the games will go ahead. President of Tokyo 2020 organising committee Seiko Hashimoto told on Friday that the Tokyo Olympics will be thankful if G7 countries can support the games which are coming up as planned.
