Uttar Pradesh: CM announces for a monthly pension for children who lost their parents to COVID-19

The state government has also come up with various other schemes to help the children and young adults who have lost their parents due to the pandemic.

Uttar Pradesh CM, Yogi Adityanath, on Friday announced for a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 under the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojna, for the needs of the children who lost their parents due to COVID-19.

Yogi Adityanath said that the state government would provide Rs 4,000 per month to the children who have lost their parents until they turn 18.

He gave the statistics of children from Gorakhpur and said that there were six children in Gorakhpur who lost one of their parents due to the virus and other illness earlier, and that at least 174 children had lost the bread-earner of their family.

The state government will also provide for the education of such children under the various schemes of the government.

The state government will provide the children, who are above age 18 and enrolled for higher education in technical courses, with a tablet along with free education.

The state government has also come up with various other schemes to help the children and young adults who have lost their parents due to the pandemic.

According to the data given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 6,019 active cases in Uttar Pradesh along with 16,75,684 cumulative recoveries and 22,030 deaths.

The scheme will help a lot of children suffering through the COVID-19 pandemic.
