Uttar Pradesh: Jio plans a $950 million data centre

Indian telecommunications company, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd plans to build a $950 million data centre in Uttar Pradesh.

“For the data centre, a 20-acre plot had been allotted to the company, and the project is to cost approximately 7,000 crore,” Sidharth Nath Singh, head of ministries of investment and export, MSME, and textile in the UP government said.

The centre will have six interconnected data centre buildings, which will provide 30,000 racks capacity and 200MW of power.

The data centre project works with the government’s plan to boost India’s digital economy to $1 trillion by 2025. The data centre plans on using its own renewable energy plant.
