Varun Dhawan, who became a father earlier this year, is embracing the new chapter of his life with honesty and humour. The actor, who tied the knot with designer Natasha Dalal in 2021, welcomed his first child, a daughter named Lara, on June 3, 2024. In a recent interview with ETimes, Varun got candid about how fatherhood is changing him and how he’s still finding his footing.
Reflecting on the early days of parenting, Varun admitted, “I’m still figuring it out. Like how responsible I have to be, or how much of a kid I can still be or can be… I think men tend to go through this.” He credited Natasha for handling everything so far, saying, “Right now, Natasha is doing everything. The woman does practically everything initially, the man then comes in and becomes useful.”
Sharing sweet moments from his new routine, Varun said he enjoys playing with Lara and is working on becoming a better father every day. “Being a dad is a lot of fun right now… I don’t think I’m there yet. I do watch TV at a really low volume now, else my wife will throw me out of the house,” he joked.
On the work front, Varun will next be seen in the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opposite Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film is set for a theatrical release on September 12.
