Varun Dhawan on Allu Arjun’s arrest, says, ‘can’t blame one person for it’

Bollywood star Varun Dhawan stated on Friday that an actor is not responsible for safety procedures and cannot be held accountable for a regrettable situation. This came only hours after Telugu superstar Allu Arjun was taken into custody in relation to a woman’s death at a promotional event for his most recent film.

Arjun was arrested in a police car and driven from his home to the Chikkadpally police station under strict security. On the evening of December 4, when many admirers flocked to the Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad to catch a glimpse of the actor, a 35-year-old woman lost her life and her 8-year-old son was admitted to the hospital.

At the “Baby John” promotional event, Dhawan was questioned about Arjun’s incarceration. “An actor cannot assume responsibility for safety procedures on his own. We can inform everyone in our vicinity,” Dhawan said to reporters. Using the Cinepolis movie theatre chain as an example, he claimed that the business had planned a successful promotional event for the film.

“They have our gratitude for that. Additionally, the incident is really painful. My condolences and deepest sympathies are extended. However, you can’t hold one person accountable for this,” he continued.

Based on the complaint filed by the family of the deceased woman, the city police have filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security detail, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Chikkadpally police station.

On December 11, Arjun went to the Telangana High Court in an attempt to get the FIR against him related to a woman’s death dismissed. Arjun was brought to the state-run Gandhi Hospital for medical examinations following the official arrest.
