Veteran actor Dharmendra, 89, hospitalised; sources confirm it’s a routine check-up, no cause for concern

Bollywood superstar Dharmendra, who will soon turn 90, was hospitalised to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. When word of his hospitalisation started to circulate online, fans became alarmed. The veteran performer is doing well and is at the hospital for regular check-ups, according to sources close to the actor, who have put an end to rumours.

According to people close to him, the 89-year-old actor was brought to the hospital earlier this week in order to go through a battery of standard medical examinations. “Yes, Dharmendra is at Breach Candy Hospital right now, but there isn’t anything to worry about. The actor is currently in the hospital since he is in good health and frequently goes there for standard medical examinations. ”

His admirers are going crazy since it appears that someone saw him there, but there is no need to worry because he is doing good, the insider said. The insider claims that Dharmendra actually chose to stay at the hospital and finish all of his tests at once rather than making the daily trip back and forth for them.

Dharmendra goes through a number of standard examinations, which often take two to three days to finish. He is 89 years old, so travelling every day can be exhausting at this age. According to the source, “his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, who are currently occupied with their respective film shoots, are keeping a close eye on their father’s health and staying updated on the medical tests and the results.”

As a result, he himself decided to stay at the hospital and complete all the tests at once rather than commuting back and forth every day. In December of this year, Dharmendra, who is married to actor-politician Hema Malini, will be 90. Dharmendra had cataract surgery back in April.

Regarding his career, Dharmendra most recently starred with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). He will next be seen in Ikkis, which is directed by Sriram Raghavan and stars Agastya Nanda. Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, is the subject of the next war play. Sikandar Kher and Jaideep Ahlawat are also in the movie. The release date is set for December.
