Vi has expanded its prepaid offerings with the launch of India’s first recharge-linked handset theft and loss insurance plans, available for both Android and iOS users.
The insurance is bundled with prepaid packs priced at ₹61, ₹201, and ₹251, offering handset protection of up to ₹25,000 along with data benefits. The insurance validity ranges from 30 days to 365 days, depending on the recharge selected.
Vi stated that the initiative addresses key gaps in the handset insurance market, including high premiums, limited coverage, and complex claims processes. The company has integrated the insurance journey into existing digital systems to enhance convenience and accessibility.
In addition to this offering, Vi highlighted other prepaid innovations such as the Hero Unlimited, Super Hero, and NonStop Hero plans. On the postpaid side, Vi Max offers benefit selection and India’s largest shared data pool for families.
