Vi takes 5G to 18 Maharashtra cities, begins rollout in 8 locations

Vi has kicked off its next phase of 5G expansion in Maharashtra, launching services in eight cities starting today.

The rollout covers Kolhapur, Vasai, Nanded, Jalgaon, Satara, Malegaon, Shirdi and Dhule, with plans to expand to 10 more cities, including Akola, Chandrapur and Latur, by May 2026.

The telecom operator is scaling its 5G network beyond major hubs like Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, targeting high data consumption zones and emerging urban clusters.

The company said the expansion supports digital growth in Maharashtra, one of India’s largest economic contributors.

Commenting on the expansion, Anand Dani, Cluster Business Head – Maharashtra & Goa, Vi, said:
