Vijay Deverakonda turned the success meet of The Girlfriend into an emotional affair as he spoke from the heart about Rashmika Mandanna’s journey, both as an actor and as a person. Attending the event as the chief guest, Vijay shared how deeply the film affected him and how proud he felt of Rashmika for taking up such a bold and meaningful role.
Vijay, who has reportedly been engaged to Rashmika since early October, spoke warmly about watching her evolution over the years. “I’ve seen Rashmika since Geetha Govindam, and she truly is a Bhooma Devi, just like her character in The Girlfriend. From that point to now, she’s become the woman she was meant to be. Taking on such a strong role at the peak of her career makes me feel incredibly proud,” he said, as Rashmika teared up beside him.
He also spoke about how Rashmika handles negativity with grace. “She’s faced so much criticism, and if it were me, I’d react. But Rashmika chooses kindness every single time. One day, the world will understand what a beautiful person she is,” he added.
Talking about The Girlfriend, Vijay revealed that the film deeply affected him. “I couldn’t stop my tears. The story makes people think and gives women courage to speak up,” he said, praising director Rahul and the team for their meaningful work.
