Recently Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam surpassed Virat Kohli in the ICC ODI batting rankings. After putting down Kohli to position two after a three years long rule, Babar finally ended nearly 18 years running wait for somebody to follow in the footprints of Yousuf. Azam records the third highest ODI average of 56.83, which is a threat for the opposition teams all around the globe.
However, Azam recently praised Indian star batter and skipper Virat Kohli for his advice back in the time. He mentioned how Kohli’s advice changed his perspective towards the game and helped him improve.
“I once spoke to Virat Kohli about net sessions, and he said to me that whatever you think or do in the nets you’ll perform the same way during the match. If you play random shots and get out in the nets then you will face the same outcome in the match. That perspective helped me a lot”. Azam said.
Babar Azam currently stands first in the ICC ODI batting rankings leading by a rating of 865 followed by Virat Kohli (857) at the second position. Both the batters are best at what they do and are in a neck to neck competition in the ranking table.
