Vrusshabha box office day 3: made on ₹70 crore budget, Mohanlal’s film earns just ₹24 lakh, headed for major flop

Superstar Mohanlal endured the humiliation of witnessing his career-worst start just months after he gave Malayalam cinema its greatest opening and highest ever collection with L2: Empuraan. His most recent film, Vrusshabha, an ambitious ₹70-crore movie, had a terrible domestic box office debut and was nearly completely destroyed abroad.

On its first day, Christmas, Vrusshabha debuted for just ₹60 lakh locally. Trade analysts didn’t think the movie would make a comeback given how low the opening day number was, especially on a holiday. However, days two and three were considerably worse. Sacnilk claims that Vrusshabha made ₹22 lakh on day two and only ₹24 lakh on day three, Saturday.

After three days, the movie’s Indian box office receipts eventually surpassed ₹1 crore. The movie has only made ₹20 lakh worldwide. Empuraan’s opening day gross of ₹65 crore worldwide is a good indicator of how awful this figure is.

Vrusshabha is going to have a terrible time at the box office because of its enormous ₹70 crore budget. Given the present trend, it might not even make ₹5 crore net domestically because most theaters would probably replace it with other movies after the weekend. Vrusshabha is likely to lose by more than 90%, which would be Mohanlal’s biggest loss in his career.

In Vrusshabha, which is written and directed by Nanda Kishore, Mohanlal plays both a medieval king and a contemporary businessman in two different eras. Samarjit Lankesh, Nayan Sarika, Ragini Dwivedi, Ajay, and Neha Saxena are among the other actors in the movie. On December 25, Vrusshabha was released in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. However, it made very little money at the box office after receiving negative reviews from reviewers. In barely three days, the dubbed versions had made just ₹34 lakh.
