War and Pathaan assistant director slams Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2, brands it the ‘weakest entry’ in YRF spy universe

With much anticipation, Ayan Mukerji’s eagerly awaited War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, debuted on August 14. However, because to its poor plot and lacklustre visual effects, the movie received mediocre to negative reviews.

Members of YRF’s own spy world have now joined the criticism, expressing dissatisfaction. Rajvir Ashar, Pathaan’s associate director, called the movie a “colossal” letdown.

After seeing War 2, Rajvir, who has served as Siddharth Anand’s associate director on films like Fighter, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, was obviously upset.

“This one was just a heartbreaking experience for me,” he remarked when posting his assessment on Instagram. I was cheering for this movie, and it only made me feel extremely angry! A terrible and drawn-out second half follows a mediocre first half. “Neither did it have enough highs nor was it successful in resonating with me emotionally!” he added, further criticising the film’s lack of emotional depth. “The day that was most “anticipated” ended up being a “colossal” letdown. “YRF Spy Universe is the weakest movie in the universe!”

With Ek Tha Tiger, the YRF Spy Universe was born. The main actors were Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, and the film was directed by Kabir Khan. Following this were Tiger Zinda Hai, Pathaan, War, Tiger 3, and now War 2. Shiv Rawail’s next installment, Alpha, which stars Bobby Deol, Sharvari, and Alia Bhatt, is slated for release on December 25. Ayan Mukerji is the director of War 2, the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe and the follow-up to the 2019 blockbuster War.

Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Jr. NTR make their Bollywood debuts in the movie, which also sees Hrithik return to his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal. The movie has made ₹200 crore globally in three days and ₹142 crore in India, despite criticism.
