Watch: Lionel Messi’s free kick hits toddle behind goalpost during Inter Miami vs Orlando City match

Inter Miami cruised to a 5-0 victory against Orlando City during their MLS match on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Miami took an early 2-0 lead due to a spectacular brace (4′, 11′) from new signing Luis Suarez. Robert Taylor then made it 3-0 in the 29th minute.

Lionel Messi was the highlight in the second half, scoring a spectacular goal in a period of six minutes (57′, 62′). The crowd was in total amazement, but a toddler was left in tears due to a mistake made by Messi.

Messi had the opportunity to score a hat-trick after his brace when Inter Miami was awarded a free kick outside the opposition penalty box. However, the shot from the former Barcelona player missed the post and struck a baby girl behind the goal post in the stands.

His first goal was pure luck, but Jordi Alba’s amazing run deserves recognition as well. Running from his left-back position, the former Barcelona defender sent the ball to Suarez at the outside of the penalty box before receiving it from his teammate again. The Spaniard’s finish rebounded against the bar and dropped to Messi, who rolled it into the goal. Suarez, who also received his second assist of the game, assisted Messi for his second goal.
