Wendy Williams has bravely shared her experience of living in a wellness facility in New York, describing her time there as a difficult and isolating ordeal. During a tearful interview with Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club, Williams explained that although she is not “cognitively impaired,” she felt trapped and compared her situation to being in prison. She was surrounded by older patients in their 70s, 80s, and 90s, which she felt was not where she belonged. She also revealed that she has had no access to her money and is stuck in a broken system that she feels has been manipulating her for the past three years.
She went on to explain how she has limited control over her environment—she can make calls, but no one can call her, and she doesn’t even know the type of phone she uses. She described her daily routine as watching TV all day while lying in bed, with limited access to devices like laptops or iPads. Williams also mentioned the lack of mobility, as the elevators were locked and she was unable to move freely around the facility.
Additionally, Williams opened up about her diagnosis of Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid, which has played a part in her health struggles.
Her candid reflections shed light on the challenges she has faced over the past few years and her desire to regain control over her life.
