West Bengal is currently facing a new tab scam. As per sources, alleged tab money is disappearing from student accounts.
It is known that the tab money is going to another account. State chief secretary Manoj Panth sat in a meeting on Monday in front of this allegation that there is corruption in tab money. As a result, 3 more people were arrested today from North Dinajpur.
One person was earlier arrested from Vaishnavnagar in Maldah district in connection with the tab scam. And today, the police arrested three more from Chopra and Islampur in North Dinajpur. It may be noted that for the convenience of the students under the Tarun Swapn Scheme, money is being given to the students of 11th and 12th classes to buy tabs. But the complaint is that even though money has been deducted in the name of many students, the money has not entered their account. Rather going to another account.
A person was arrested from Maldah after investigating this incident. The arrested person’s name is Hashem Ali. Asharul Hossain was arrested from Islampur, and Saddiq and Mobarak Hossain were arrested from Chopra. Not only these people are involved in the incident, but many others are involved in it, according to the initial estimate of the police.
It is known that there has been corruption of about 2 crore rupees from the state due to the tab scam. In view of this situation, the chief secretary of the state held a meeting with the school education officials of East Medinipur, East Burdwan, Hooghly, Maldah, and South Dinajpur on Monday.
