What are the Best Travel Destinations in India Post COVID?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2020, travelling was not an option. Not only did countries close down their borders but so did states within the countries. After almost an entire year of turbulence, things seemed to finally get back to track in India.

Travelling might not be the priority for most people in these times but try saying that to young people who were cooped up in their houses for a year of their life’s prime. While they just might be dreaming about pristine beaches and mysterious mountains, we’ve compiled a list for your post COVID travel ideas.

Goa

Even though Goa is a small state, it is a giant when it comes to travel destinations in the country. Filled with beautiful beaches and known for both rave parties and world heritage sites, the state offers a wonderful time away for all visitors. Additionally, Goa is also known for being home to one of the few land-based casinos in the country even though online casinos in India have been growing steadily over the last few years.

While the pandemic made a massive dent in the local economy which was mostly based around tourism, Goa has been opening back up again.

Munnar

Munnar is a charming hill station located in Kerala, also known as “god’s own country” to travellers all over India. Filled with stunning sceneries and natural beauty, most travellers partake in nature trails, adventure activities, and sightseeing. The best season to travel is during the winter months from December to February which makes it an ideal destination if you’re looking to travel within the next few months!

Shimla

Located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla used to be the summer capital of the British Raj in India. Today, the hill station is a top travel destination for people looking to escape the hustle-bustle of cities. The colonial heritage has a huge impact on the architectural style of the city which only makes the city feel more charming.

Like the other destinations on this list, Shimla also had to undergo some problems through the pandemic but as the situation develops, it is opening up again for tourists.

Travelling responsibly

Even though it might seem like we’ve seen the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must stay diligent. Administrative bodies have urged travellers to be considerate of the travel regulations in place so that future outbreaks can be prevented. However, one thing definitely seems to be certain – it’s time to travel again!
