Amy Schumer, known for her comedy and acting, shared that her family isn’t really fazed by her fame—her husband, Chris Fischer, 45, and their 5-year-old son don’t make a big deal out of her popularity. During an appearance on Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alex Cooper, Schumer opened up about her family’s reaction to her celebrity status.
She explained, “It’s the same with my son or my husband. It’s like, ‘you’re mom.'” Schumer also shared that her son has only watched a few of her projects, including the latest Trolls movie and a scene from Trainwreck where she tried to dunk. He even saw some of her upcoming work, Kinda Pregnant, while she was editing it. According to Schumer, her son thought the stunts were hilarious, but he doesn’t seem to care about her fame. As for her husband, Schumer noted that while he sometimes tries to “empathize” with her celebrity life, he doesn’t really care much about it.
She pointed out that Fischer’s background might explain his lack of interest. Growing up on Martha’s Vineyard, Fischer was around some famous people, so he didn’t find Schumer’s stardom all that exciting.
Schumer and Fischer began their relationship in November 2017, and by 2018, Schumer made it official on Instagram, confirming they had tied the knot in a surprise ceremony in Malibu. Schumer previously told Today that she knew Fischer was “the one” after just a month of dating, noting they’d been friends for six months before they started their relationship. In 2019, the couple expanded their family with the birth of their son.
