Sticking to a fitness routine can be tough for many people—sometimes even just for a week—due to all sorts of reasons. But for Jane Fonda, staying active and following her fitness routine is still a priority, even at the age of 87!
Recently, Fonda sat down with People magazine to talk about how her workouts have changed over the years. She explained that while she may not be moving at the same speed as before, she still does much of the same stuff, just at a slower pace. “I essentially do everything I used to do, just slower,” she said.
Fonda used to be an avid runner, but these days, she prefers walking, especially in nature. She loves hiking up and down hills in the woods. As a longtime fitness enthusiast, Fonda shared that she works out every day. To keep things interesting, she makes sure to mix up her workouts—alternating between upper body exercises and focusing on her lower body for strength. She also makes time for cardio, with walking outdoors being one of her favorite ways to get her heart pumping.
Fonda, who’s been passionate about fitness for years, is now partnering with Supernatural, a virtual reality fitness platform, for a four-part project. The project includes workouts like “Flow with Jane Fonda,” “Box with Jane Fonda & Ludacris,” “Jane Fonda: Stretching,” and “Jane Fonda: Team Workout.”
When talking about her experience with VR fitness, Fonda admitted she was surprised by how easy it was to get the hang of Supernatural. “We really bridged the past and future of fitness with this series,” she said, adding that even with all the new technology, it felt like no time had passed since she started working out.
Fonda also shared her love for music, which plays a big role in her workout series. She emphasized that the right music can really make or break a workout—especially during cardio and aerobics. An upbeat playlist is key, along with a positive mindset.
Fitness has always been an important part of Fonda’s life, and with new technology like VR, she feels like she’s come full circle. It’s a perfect blend of old-school fitness wisdom and cutting-edge innovation.
