British actress Lena Kathren Headey was born on October 3, 1973. She won widespread praise for her performances as Queen Gorgo in 300 and Cersei Lannister on the HBO epic fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), for which she was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award (2006).

With movie legends Jeanne Moreau, Joan Plowright, and Julie Walters, Headey made her acting debut in the 1992 British film The Clothes in the Wardrobe (also known as The Summer House in the US). [1][2] The suspense drama Waterland came next (1992). She continued to consistently work in American and British movies and on television until becoming more well-known for her starring roles in the movies 300 and The Brothers Grimm (2005). (2006). She has also appeared in The Jungle Book (1994), The Remains of the Day (1993), Mrs. Dalloway (1997), Imagine Me & You (2005), Dredd (2012), The Purge (2013), 300: Rise of an Empire (2014), Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016), and Fighting with My Family (2019).

In addition to her work in movies, Headey has had roles in science fiction television shows Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008–2009) and the animated online series Infinity Train. She played Amelia Hughes on a regular basis in both of these projects (2019–2021). She contributed voices for the anime series Tales of Arcadia (2017-2018; 2020), the video game tie-in Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016), the role-playing video game Risen (2009), the puppet series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and the animated series Danger Mouse (2015-2017). In the 2014 film 300: Rise of an Empire, Headey played Queen Gorgo once more. Although Rise of an Empire, like the first movie, had some negative reviews, it was a huge commercial success, earning over US$337 million globally. She also appeared in the 2014 biographical drama Down Down about jazz pianist Joe Albany and the fantasy adventure movie The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box. She starred alongside Patrick Wilson in the political thriller Zipper in 2015 as the wife of a federal prosecutor running for politics who is unable to stop himself from sleeping with affluent prostitutes.

Along with her previous Game of Thrones, Century, and The Contractor co-star Charles Dance, Headey played Lady Catherine de Bourgh in the historical action comedy Pride & Prejudice and Zombies. She was “excessively diverting,” according to Variety’s Andrew Barker, in a “tolerable, but not gorgeous enough” movie. In addition to lending her voice to Morgana in Trollhunters and a “predictably hard-boiled boss” in the murder thriller Thumper, which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, Headey also voiced the Mercedes A-Class television commercial.

Platform One Media and Headey’s production business, Peephole Productions, agreed to a first-look contract in November 2020. (now Boat Rocker Studios).

Headey will debut as a feature-length filmmaker in March 2022 with the thriller picture Violet, which is based on a book.
