The feud between Cam’ron and Jim Jones has intensified, with the latest back-and-forth occurring on January 13 during an episode of Cam’ron’s talk show It Is What It Is. This conflict started back in December 2024, when Cam’ron accused Jim Jones of betraying him by performing at a 50 Cent concert during an episode of the Talk With Flee show. In response, Jones fired back during his appearance on the Respectfully Podcast with Justin Laboy on January 6, telling Cam’ron to “get off [his] d***” and implying that he had no time for their issues.
Both rappers were part of the iconic hip-hop group The Diplomats (Dipset), along with Freaky Zekey and, later, Juelz Santana. The group has long had a complicated dynamic, and the tension between Cam’ron and Jones dates back to the late 2000s.
The original catalyst for this feud seems to be when 50 Cent invited Jones and Juelz Santana to perform at his NYC show in 2007, an act Cam’ron described as “devious.” Cam’ron felt betrayed by Jones’ actions but later admitted that it was a smart move on Jones’ part. In response, Jones defended himself by saying he was simply taking opportunities for his own career, including performing for thousands of fans when he saw that his former groupmates were not taking care of business.
In his latest response, Cam’ron doubled down, claiming that Jim Jones was once a “fan” who begged to be a part of Dipset. Cam’ron added that Jones had no roots in the crew and had only joined after hearing their mixtapes.
Fans and observers are now awaiting Jones’ next move in this escalating war of words between the two former Dipset members.
