Walker Scobell, the star of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, has given fans a sneak peek into what to expect from the highly anticipated second season. In an interview with TV Insider, Scobell shared some exciting details about the upcoming season, noting some significant changes from Rick Riordan’s original The Sea of Monsters novel.
According to Scobell, the second season will begin in a slightly different place for Percy, mainly due to the physical growth of the cast, including himself. “It starts off in a little bit of a different place, at least for Percy, than the book,” Scobell explained, adding that his character would be in a “happier” place than in the book. He also hinted that Percy has undergone some personal growth since the first season, making him feel more content.
Scobell teased that fans can expect the upcoming season to be packed with even more action than the first. Reflecting on the first season’s balance of dialogue and action, he mentioned that there were moments where the group would have conversations, followed by intense action sequences. But in Season 2, the action will take center stage, with fewer talking scenes, creating a higher stakes environment for the characters.
The storyline for Season 2, while packed with action, will still stay true to the core of the book series. The show will continue to follow the events of The Sea of Monsters, but with a fresh take that reflects the cast’s growth and the increasing intensity of the plot.
Along with Scobell, the series stars Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, and Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, all of whom will return for this action-packed season. Fans can expect a thrilling continuation of Percy’s adventures with even higher stakes and a new level of excitement.
