The White Lotus Season 3 made its dramatic return on February 16, delivering shocking twists that have fans eagerly awaiting the next episode. A major highlight of the premiere was Jon Gries’ surprise cameo as the diabolical Greg, reprising his role from Season 2 and setting the stage for more intrigue.
The second episode of Season 3 dropped on February 23 at 9 p.m. EST on Max, and while fans are waiting for more, here’s a look at the current drama.
New guests at the White Lotus resort include Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) and her older boyfriend, Rick (Walton Goggins). Their odd relationship takes center stage, with Rick growing increasingly irritated by Chelsea’s constant chatter, while Chelsea becomes frustrated with Rick’s grumpy demeanor. Rick’s growing disinterest in Chelsea and his increasing curiosity about Sritala’s American husband hints that he may have ulterior motives, much like Greg did in Season 2 when he murdered his wealthy ex-wife, Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), with the help of a hitman.
Meanwhile, Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), Kate (Leslie Bibb), and Laurie (Carrie Coon) are a trio of friends enjoying a retreat at the resort. Though their story seems lighthearted for now, The White Lotus is known for taking sudden, dark turns, so nothing is ever quite what it seems.
In another storyline, Natasha Rothwell’s character, Belinda Lindsey, is exploring Eastern culture as the new spa manager at the resort. She hopes to use her time there to learn about Eastern wellness practices, which she plans to apply to her own spa in Hawaii. In the premiere, we see her embrace the tropical surroundings and begin to delve into Buddhist traditions.
And of course, there’s the Ratliff family. A Southern couple brings their three children to the Thailand resort, with their daughter, Piper, hoping to write her thesis on Buddhism. What starts as a peaceful vacation could soon spiral into a nightmare, as The White Lotus is never short of surprises.
