Here is all we know about the potential antagonist in Barry Allen’s upcoming DC Universe film.

The Flash’s release date is rapidly approaching, and the picture is one of the most anticipated DC Universe offerings in recent memory since it appears to be the final chapter in Zack Snyder’s SnyderVerse and the beginning of James Gunn’s reign as franchise leader.

More than that, though, The Flash has already received positive early reviews, with fans praising Keaton’s return as Batman in a film adaptation of Flashpoint and hailing it as one of the finest films of the year. We already know that Keaton’s Batman will link up with Supergirl, Barry Allen (twice), and The Flash, but who will they be facing off against and who is the film’s villain?

Who is the villain in The Flash?

According to the teasers, Zod, played by Michael Shannon, will play a significant adversary in The Flash, reprising his position from a decade ago in Man of Steel. But since this is The Flash, we are aware that time will be skipped and many worlds will be bent.

As a result, it is theoretically possible that antagonists from previous DC films would make a comeback, including Michael Keaton’s Batman antagonists and the Joker (Jack Nicholson), as well as Eobard Thawne’s The Reverse Flash, who would also make sense in the context of the tale.
