WHO has revealed that it’s in final stages of the negotiations with the pharmaceutical company Pfizer that would fasten the process of delivering COVID-19 vaccinations to poorer countries.
WHO had previously initiated COVAX scheme in association with GAVI vaccine which would start the process of providing free COVID-19 vaccines to poorer and middle income countries from Feb, 2021. The COVAX scheme aims to deliver 2-3 billion doses by year ending in Dec 2021.
