Who Plays Koel Kalra in “Class”?

Naina Bhan talks about her role as Koel Kalea in Class and how the programme addressed intimacy.

The Hindi version of The Elite on Netflix has been a big success. Since its launch earlier this month, the programme has been trending on the website and receiving praise from viewers.

Naina Bhan makes her television debut with the show, which focuses on the issues and lives of affluent, high-society youngsters in Delhi. Naina talks about her role as Koel Kala, how she got the job, and the challenges of filming intimate sequences in an exclusive conversation with DNA.

How Did Naina Bhana Feel About Her Role in “Class”?

Naina, a south Delhi native, claims that the character has always grabbed her attention, which is why, in extremely peculiar circumstances during the first lockdown, she sought for the role.

“One day, an audition was randomly submitted to my agency, and I was excited to try out for it. I am a girl from south Delhi, and if I cannot play this music, I would be unable to achieve anything.

On my birthday, during the first lockdown, I auditioned in my bathroom, which was the only quiet spot in my house. Months later, they informed me that I had passed and that I needed to come to Mumbai. “I initially believed it was all a joke since everything sounded too wonderful to be true,” she says.

Class depicts the scandalous and immoral adolescent lifestyles of Delhi’s affluent youth, which are rife with crime, sex, and drug use. Naina disputes claims made by some reviewers that the show is unrealistic.

Who Plays Koel Kalra in “Class”?

In the television series Class, Koel Kalra, played by Naina, has love ties to two men, and the episode highlights their friendship.

The actor asserts that despite this, she was not deterred from acting because intimacy was essential to the performance. “Maybe it’s my naivete, but I hate it when people put me in a box,” she says.

Intimacy was the last thing on my mind given Koel’s personality and the style of this show. As it examines the peculiar facets of people’s lives and psyches, it’s a dream role.
