Wholesale price inflation up by 2.03% in January

Wholesale prices inflation rose from 1.22% to 2.03% in January despite food price reduced.

This is still lower than the inflation price in January 2020 which was 3.52%. The Press Information Bureau in the press release, the price of manufactured goods rose by 1.54% from December 2020 i.e. from 123.0 (provisional) in December 2020 to 124.9 (provisional). The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry in a statement said that 18 products have witnessed increase in prices out of 22 NIC two-digit groups in January this year as compared to December last year. They also mentioned non-metallic mineral products, leather products, and printing and reproduction of recorded media.
