Amin Joseph, known for his role in Snowfall, has been cast in an exciting new limited series based on the life of Muhammad Ali. Titled The Greatest, the series will be available on Prime Video and will explore key moments from the iconic boxer’s life, both inside and outside the ring.
According to Deadline, the show will be executive produced by Michael B. Jordan, who is working closely with showrunner Ben Watkins. The series will dive into the defining moments of Ali’s life and career, which have been widely documented, while also exploring his personal life away from the spotlight.
Jaalen Best will take on the lead role of Muhammad Ali, while Amin Joseph will portray one of Ali’s most famous rivals, Sonny Liston. Liston, known as “The Bear,” was once seen as unbeatable until his shocking loss to the young Cassius Clay (later known as Muhammad Ali) in 1964. This pivotal match marked the beginning of Ali’s legendary career.
The cast also includes Omari Hardwick as Cassius “Cash” Clay Sr., Ali’s father, and Dana Gourrier as his mother, Odessa “Bird” Clay.
Michael B. Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society, has teamed up with Amazon MGM Studios, along with Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions, Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment, and Grace: A Storytelling Company, to bring The Greatest to life.
Currently, Amin Joseph can be seen in the Sony comedy One Of Them Days, starring alongside Keke Palmer and SZA. However, his standout role remains as Jerome Saint, the complex patriarch in the hit FX series Snowfall.
