Will Heidi Klum Return To Project Runway As Host For Its Upcoming Season?

The excitement is building for Project Runway fans as Heidi Klum is making her highly anticipated return as the host for the show’s upcoming 21st season. People magazine confirmed this thrilling news on January 3, 2025.

For those who may not know, Klum was the face of Project Runway from its debut in 2004 until her departure in 2017. She left the show with fashion mentor Tim Gunn, who announced her exit in September 2018. Following their departure, the duo teamed up again in 2020 to create Making The Cut on Amazon Prime Video, where they had more creative freedom to showcase their vision for a fashion competition series.

During a press conference in 2020, Klum explained that their creative ideas were often bigger than what they were allowed to do on Project Runway. She reflected, “Everything kind of fell apart… It was scary. We shopped it around and thought that Amazon was the best place, not only for the show but also for the designers,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As for the upcoming season of Project Runway, while an exact premiere date hasn’t been announced, it’s expected to debut later this year. This season will air on Disney’s Freeform, and episodes will be available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu the next day. It’s shaping up to be an exciting new chapter for Project Runway, with Klum back at the helm, bringing her iconic style and energy to the show.
