The Witcher: Siren of the Deep is set to bring new excitement to fans of the Witcher universe, offering a fresh story within the franchise. The Netflix film, which follows The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (released in 2021), delves into a new adventure for Geralt of Rivia. This time, the silver-haired monster hunter finds himself embroiled in a conflict between a fishing village and the local merpeople.
The film takes place in the timeline between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher Season 1. In episode 5, Geralt and Yennefer meet under tragic circumstances, but their paths eventually begin to align. This episode, set in 1256, ends with Geralt’s promise to Yennefer, to forever etch her into his life after saving her. In episode 6, set in 1262, the two meet again while hunting a dragon, though their relationship remains strained. Siren of the Deep fits into this timeline, offering fans a deeper connection between the movie and the events of the show.
The film will also feature the return of key characters, including Yennefer (played by Anya Chalotra) and Jaskier (played by Joey Batey), offering some nostalgic moments for viewers who followed the series. Despite Henry Cavill’s departure from the series, with Liam Hemsworth taking over Geralt’s role in future seasons, The Witcher: Siren of the Deep will provide a continuation of the saga, available to stream on Netflix.
