‘Wish I had more scenes..’ Bobby Deol opens up about his short screen time in ‘Animal’

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal is soaring high at the box office. The movie, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, was released in theatres on December 1. Aside from the plot and the captivating music, the movie has created a lot of hype because of Bobby Deol’s role. His portrayal as the antagonist, Abrar Haque, in the film has been a hot topic of discussion since the film’s trailer was released.

Despite the short screen time, the actor succeeded in making an impact on the audience.

In a new interaction with PTI, Bobby Deol said that his short screen time is due to the type of character he plays, not the length of the role. The actor then expressed his desire to have more scenes, saying, “I wish I had more scenes, but when I signed the film, I knew this is what I had. At that point in my life, I was grateful to God that I was given this chance to play this role by Sandeep.”

He also said, “I knew I had only 15 days of work and wouldn’t be there throughout the film. I was sure people would notice me, but I never realized that there would be so much love, appreciation, and affection. It’s like, wow! It’s amazing.”

Animal was released in five languages earlier this week: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, on December 1. Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor and Triptii Dimri also play important parts in the movie.
