Wolves interested in signing Trincao but the decision depends on Koeman

This summer’s transfer window, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Barcelona winger Francisco Trincao. Wolves might be a possible destination for Trincao, who is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, according to RAC1’s Gerard Romero.

Trincao, 21, made 42 appearances for the Blaugrana in his debut season, though he spent most of his time on the bench, logging only 683 minutes in La Liga. With the impending arrival of Memphis Depay on a free transfer, the club may be tempted to sanction his sale in order to recoup funds for additional players.

The connection with Wolves is unsurprising given the large number of Portuguese players obtained by the club via Mendes in recent years. If Wolves make a formal move for the £22 million-rated winger, they will undoubtedly have an advantage over many other European clubs.

His future as a high-level footballer isn’t in doubt, but this could decide his fate at Barcelona since he’s becoming the type of guy they look to sell for a profit rather than a potential first-team option.

Wolves could be a good landing site for him because they have a lot of Portuguese talent, making it easier to settle, and an impressive show in the Premier League may significantly increase his stock if he subsequently returns to Camp Nou in the summer of 2022.

If Koeman is still undecided, he may have a larger role on the squad next year, but his best hope would be to go out and play every game as a starter somewhere else.
