A woman who reportedly sold drugs to Robert De Niro’s grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez has been taken into custody, according to a major update in the ongoing investigation. As per the New York Post, the woman known as the “Percocet Princess” Sofia Haley Marks is the real identity of the suspected drug dealer.
Sofia was arrested on Thursday following an undercover sting operation undertaken by the NYPD, Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security, according to the report. Reportedly, she has been charged with the distribution of narcotics.
Leandro was found dead in his Financial District flat in New York City on July 2. A friend who had not heard from him in a couple of days went to check on him and found him dead. Authorities found drugs and drug paraphernalia near Leandro’s body.
In the meantime, the cause of Leandro’s death has not been confirmed.
19-year-old Leandro was a budding young actor. His first huge break in Hollywood came with the 2018 film “A Star Is Born,” helmed by Bradley Cooper. Leandro appeared in the 2018 drama “Cabaret Maxime” as well.
