Won’t buy Aviation or Cinema Stocks: Helios Capital’s Samir Arora

The Founder and manager of Singapore based hedge fund Helios Capital, Samir Arora has not anticipated a 10 to 15 per cent correction in the Indian Market but thinks that a 5 per cent correction would be healthy.

Samir Arora in an interview had said that they have not trimmed any of their positions, although at the time, it was a good time to clean up one’s portfolio and sell out the poor quality stocks. He also said that he expects the consumer demand to remain unenthusiastic but would be a bullish on the Indian Equity Market.

The Founder said that they have hospital companies in their portfolio and weightage in the banks have gone up with State Bank Of India (SBI) as their second largest holding. He also mentioned about owning ICICI Securities and the SBI card as those would benefit from consumers under penetration in India.

Without giving out the names of any firm, Mr. Arora said that they held three home finance companies in their portfolios and would not buy aviation or cinema stocks as both the aviation and multiplex sectors had been hit hard due to the restrictions imposed in places to keep the spread of the COVID-19 virus in check.
