Working towards making my bank first in Mexico to take Bitcoin: Ricardo Salinas

To accept the largest cryptocurrency, 166th richest person in the world and a noted bitcoin bull Ricardo Salinas Pliego is working in the direction to make his bank the first in Mexico to do so.

Mentioning that he and his bank, Banco Azteca, are working to be the first bank in Mexico to accept the cryptocurrency, he responded to a fellow bitcoin enthusiast and MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor in a tweet.

A video shared by noted investor and bitcoin advocate Anthony Pompliano on Twitter featuring Salinas where he was explaining that why “fiat is a fraud” and his witnessing hyperinflation first hand informed his rationale for investing in bitcoin and also stated that why shall he choose cryptocurrency over any other asset, was left with a comment by Saylor.

With stakes in telecommunication, financial services, media and retail stores as per Wikipedia, Salinas is the founder and chairman of Grupo Salinas while Forbes has mentioned his net worth as $15.8 billion.

The previous year Ricardo Salinas who is the third richest man in Mexico had announced in a tweet mentioning that 10 per cent of his portfolio were tied up in bitcoin, He also mentioned that bitcoin can protect the citizen from government expropriation.
