The teaser of Yash’s film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups continues to face criticism over a scene that many have called inappropriate. The clip, which includes an intimate sequence involving Yash and a woman inside a car near a cemetery, has sparked widespread discussion and backlash online. Amid this growing attention, actress Beatriz Taufenbach, who appears in the scene, seems to have stepped away from social media.
Soon after the teaser was released, viewers began speculating about the identity of the woman featured alongside Yash. Several reports initially named actor Natalie Burn. However, director Geetu Mohandas later clarified the matter by introducing Brazilian actor and model Beatriz Taufenbach on Instagram, referring to her as the “cemetery girl” from the film.
As the controversy gained momentum, Beatriz’s Instagram account became inaccessible. Searching for her profile now shows a message stating that the account is not available, indicating that it has been deactivated. While there has been no official statement from Beatriz regarding the move, the timing has drawn attention in the middle of the ongoing debate.
The teaser has also attracted political scrutiny. Leaders from the women’s wing of the Aam Aadmi Party have filed a complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Women, objecting to what they described as obscene content. In their letter, the party claimed the visuals harm the dignity of women, affect children negatively, and were released without proper age warnings.
Following the complaint, the women’s commission has written to the Central Board of Film Certification, asking for appropriate action. The makers of Toxic have not issued a fresh response so far.
