Yogi govt proposes ₹2,000 crore to develop Jewar airport, Asia’s biggest

Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has proposed to set aside ₹2,000 crores to develop Jewar Airport as Asia’s biggest airport, said state Finance Minister Suresh Khanna.

The developed airport is set to have six runways. Finance Minister Khanna said, “the target was to make Uttar Pradesh “Aatmanirbhar” and ensure all-round development of the state.”

The UP government has designated Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) as the executing organization on its behalf for its airport in Jewar.

The project is expected to be completed by 2023. The area of the air terminal will be spread to more than 1,334 hectares and would cost ₹4,588 crore.
