YouTube streamer Roaring Kitty who helped people get interested in the stocks of GameStop, along with top hedge fund managers, will testify in front of The House Financial Services Committee that is investigating the sudden rise in the market value of GameStop.
GameStop Corp and a few other companies witnessed a high rise in the trade market recently. The House Financial Services Committee is investigating how it happened and how this resulted in squeezing of hedge funds like Melvin Capital. The list of witnesses was announced by a US Congresswoman named Maxine Waters. It includes Roaring Kitty whose real name is Keith Gill, CEO of Robinhood Vlad Tenev, Citadel CEO Kenneth Griffin and Melvin Capital CEO Gabriel Plotkin, along with Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.
Maxine Water is also the chairperson of the committee and a Democrat. Melvin Capital suffered huge losses after betting on the fall in the stock price of GameStop.
