YRF denies claims of paid promotion using missing persons posts for Mardaani 3

Yash Raj Films has responded to allegations circulating on social media that linked the promotional campaign of Mardaani 3 to posts about missing persons in Delhi. The production house issued a statement on Thursday, firmly denying any involvement and calling the claims misleading.

The controversy erupted after a PTI report, citing Delhi Police data, went viral last week, claiming that over 800 people had gone missing in the capital in the first half of January. The report triggered widespread concern online, particularly as it coincided with the release of Mardaani 3, which revolves around the disappearance of dozens of young girls over a short period of time.

On Friday morning, Delhi Police clarified the situation, stating that the sudden spike in posts about missing girls was being driven through paid promotion. In a post shared on X, the police said such actions would not be tolerated and warned of strict legal steps against those responsible for creating panic for monetary gains.

Following this, Yash Raj Films released an official statement distancing itself from the controversy. A spokesperson said the studio, which has been in operation for over five decades, follows strict ethical and transparent practices. The statement strongly denied claims that the film’s marketing strategy had sensationalised a sensitive issue and expressed faith in authorities to present the full facts.

Earlier, Delhi Police had also urged citizens not to fall for rumours, reiterating their commitment to child safety and warning against the misuse of data to spread fear.Meanwhile, Mardaani 3, starring Rani Mukerji as Shivani Shivaji Roy, continues to receive positive reviews and has crossed ₹25 crore at the box office within its first week.
