Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Foundation has announced #Mission1000Beds for the COVID-19 relief

Throughout the year, the YouWeCan Foundation collaborated with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, UNICEF, and WHO to launch numerous COVID-19 awareness initiatives.

International cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Foundation has announced #Mission1000Beds, a hospital capacity expansion solution that will quickly scale up COVID-19 critical care facilities across India.

In collaboration with OneDigital Entertainment, this program intends to improve the capability of government, army, autonomous, and charitable hospitals by providing oxygenated beds, ventilators, and BiPAP machines, as well as other crucial medical equipment for COVID-19 patients. Not only will these increase the hospitals’ existing capacity, but they will also continue to serve patients for the next ten years and beyond. By meeting this current need, the YouWeCan team hopes to improve the healthcare infrastructure in other areas in the near future.

This activity has already begun in Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, J&K, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Telangana, Karnataka, and MP, with more cities in other states being considered.

“COVID’s second wave has been terrible. We’ve all lost loved ones and seen innumerable examples of people in need of oxygen, ICU beds, and other critical care facilities in order to battle COVID-19.  I, too, have been greatly affected by this, and I believe we all need to stand up to help our healthcare providers, as well as the federal and state governments, who are all working relentlessly,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

With the effort #Mission1000Beds, the foundation hopes to increase hospital capacity by 10% to 15%, allowing them to treat more COVID patients and save more lives. Over the next ten years, they hope to help at least 6200 people a month and 7,20,000 people. While the foundation had initially set a goal of 1000 beds, they have already received requests for more than 2000 beds, and this number is expected to rise. This activity is being carried out by the staff around the clock. They believe, this is their chance to band together in the fight against COVID-19. “I encourage others to participate in this project as well. Thousands of lives will be saved as a result of our activities today,” Yuvraj Singh adds.

These institutions are designed to meet the long-term healthcare requirements of the community. The YouWeCan Foundation raised funds to provide over one million hygiene kits to COVID-affected states across the country last year.
