Director Zack Snyder has disclosed that he is open to the possibility of directing a Dragon Ball Z movie. In a recent interview with YouTuber Tyrone Magnus, the 55-year-old director talked about his love for anime, and how he would like to see if his vision of the beloved anime works or not, and would do it only if it came out in the right manner. The director also said that he watches a ton of anime with his kid, who he admits is too young to watch anime but watches with him anyway. Considering the remake of Dragon Ball Z, Snyder said that he would do either an anime remake of the series or would consider doing a live-action version.
Along with questions about the anime remake possibility, YouTuber Tyrone Magnus also asked the director about his previous venture – Zack Snyder’s Justice League, where he asked if the director had heard anything from either the producers of the movie Warner Bros’ Studios or Disney, to which Snyder said that he had heard from neither. The YouTuber, after this, opened up the floor to questions which fans of the director had been wanting to ask, where the questions about the remake of Dragon Ball Z came up.
The Dragon Ball series, particularly the Dragon Ball Z saga, has been one of the most popular and beloved animes across the world. The Japanese fantasy anime television series which is produced by Toei Animation tells the tale of Son Goku and his companions who strive to defend the Earth against villains ranging from aliens, androids, and magical creatures. The popularity of the anime series had given birth to a live-action remake produced in Hollywood, which was titled ‘Dragon Ball: Evolution’. However, the movie failed to work and was rejected by fans of the series and the general audience alike. Fans of the Dragon Ball series have been anticipating for a long time to see if the series could be remade successfully under the direction of Zack Snyder, especially after the stylistic approach the director is known for in his DCEU movies and war films.
