Zakir Khan takes break from stage shows due to health concerns; announces limited India tour

Comedian Zakir Khan has revealed in his Instagram story that he will be stepping back from extensive stage performances after more than a decade of continuous touring. The 38-year-old, known for his witty storytelling and signature style, admitted that the demanding routine has taken a toll on his health. He confessed that while he has been unwell for the past year, he pushed himself to keep working because it felt necessary at the time.

Zakir described how the endless cycle of shows, sleepless nights, and constant travel affected him. “Touring this extensively is not good and very healthy. Trying to satisfy everyone you meet, 2-3 shows in a day, early morning flights, and of course, no timetable for meals,” he said. Despite his love for performing live, Zakir emphasized that he now has to prioritize health before things worsen.

While announcing the decision, the comedian also confirmed that his upcoming India tour titled Papa Yaar will be his last before a long break. The tour will be limited in scale, unlike his earlier extensive runs. “This time we will do an India tour in limited cities, I won’t be able to add more shows, and after doing this special record, I’ve been advised to go on a long break,” he explained.

The Papa Yaar tour begins on October 24 and will run until January 11 next year. Cities on the lineup include Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhopal, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Mangalore. Zakir also clarified that there will be no shows in Indore, urging fans to attend the Bhopal performance instead.
