Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the 39-year-old Swedish superstar is ruled out of the tournament due to an injury to his left knee. He came out of retirement last year to play for his country in the summer tournament.
The European Championship was shifted from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic. The tournament will kick off next month. Zlatan got injured in the 64th minute while AC Milan was playing against Juventus, which they eventually won 3-0. He will be undergoing a cautious rehabilitation process that could last six weeks and will cause the Swedish star to leave Sweden’s first game against Spain on June 14.
Sweden National side Coach, Janne Andersson confirmed that the injury has made him unavailable for this summer’s tournament.

Sweden will be missing his leadership qualities and a unique presence on the pitch that would have helped Sweden in performing well.
He will also miss Milan’s two remaining games, Milan’s manager Stefano Piolo would have liked Zlatan in his team for the rest of the fixture, they are still not confirmed a Champions League spot for and they will be hoping to secure the spot after their good performances, they haven’t qualified since 2014, but if they play well this weekend, it will be possible. He also signed a new deal with the Milan club, extending his contract for one more year in a lucrative deal.
