Zoe Saldana is celebrating a monumental moment in her career as she received her first-ever Oscar nomination for her role in Emilia Perez. The actress shared her excitement and gratitude on Instagram, posting a photo with her sisters, Cisely and Mariel, and expressing her appreciation for the nomination. She wrote, “I am truly honored and grateful for the nomination. Thank you so much for considering me for this award. I am thrilled to be among such talented company.”
Saldana also gave a special shout-out to the film’s director, Jaques Audiard, and shared that the movie was “made with love.” She added, “Thank you to @theacademy and its members for recognizing our work. Jacques!!!!! BINGO!”
Saldana has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category, where she faces stiff competition from Ariana Grande (Wicked), Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), Isabella Rossellini (Vonclave), and Felicity Jones (The Brutalist).
This Oscar nod is part of a big year for Saldana, who also won her first Golden Globe earlier this year. In addition to the Oscar, she’s been nominated for several other prestigious awards, including the BAFTA Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and SAG Awards.
The 2025 Academy Awards will air live on March 2, Sunday, on Hulu and ABC at 7 p.m. ET. It’s certainly shaping up to be a year to remember for the actress!
