₹24 Crore opening for Dacoit, but film heads for underwhelming finish

On its third day (Sunday), Dacoit: A Love Story, which starred Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in the major roles, brought in Rs. 7.75 crore, an 8% decrease from Day 2. As a result, the film’s opening weekend gross at the Indian box office reached Rs. 24.25 crore.

The decline has virtually sealed the fate of the bilingual romantic action movie, which should have either reported a surge on Sunday or remained level. The movie starring Adivi Sesh isn’t doing as well as anticipated; instead, it’s a disappointing weekend with subpar trends for a movie with such a large budget.

Approximately 63% of Dacoit’s total domestic revenue, or Rs. 15.50 crore, came from its own markets. About Rs. 3.15 crore from Karnataka and Rs. 50 lakh from Tamil Nadu and Kerala were earned by the Shaneil Deo film. Over the course of its three-day theatrical run, the remaining Indian markets, including Hindi, contributed about Rs. 5.10 crore. Dacoit is destined to be a box office failure based on the present trends. On weekdays, let’s see if the film can show some legs.

The plot of Dacoit: A Love Story centers on Hari, a prisoner who, after being imprisoned due to a betrayal, seeks retribution against Saraswati, his ex-lover. Following his release, Hari pursues his personal grudge and gets involved in a string of robberies, linking his previous relationship to a larger series of illegal activities. As Hari pursues Saraswati (played by Mrunal Thakur), their paths intersect once more, sparking a confrontation.
