16-year-old English batsman Daniel Ibrahim creates history

16 years old English cricketer Daniel Ibrahim has made history in English cricket. At the age of 16 years and 299 days, he set a world record by scoring a half-century in the county championship. He is the youngest batsman to hit a half-century in the 131-year history of county cricket. Daniel Ibrahim has done well in batting and bowling against Yorkshire.

He started with 55 off 134 balls and then took his first wicket in first-class cricket, dismissing Tom Cadmore. He has broken Bilal Shafayat’s record by 61 days.
Bilal made a record by scoring 72 runs for Nottinghamshire against Middlesex in 2002.

Daniel had no idea he was going to make his debut from Sussex. Now he has set a new record in the history of cricket.
“I was surprised when I was told that I was playing, but I was also very excited. There is no better ground than Headingley to debut on. It was very special”. That’s what Daniel Ibrahim said after setting the record.

Talking about the match, after winning the toss in the Group 3 match of the County Championship being played at Leeds, Yorkshire chooses to bowl and invited Sussex to bat first. Sussex’s first innings ended at 313 runs. Daniel had scored 55 runs in 134 balls. Sussex captain Ben Brown scored 127 runs. Daniel tried to recover the team’s innings by supporting the captain well. He played some good shots and scored 8 boundaries.

After this, Yorkshire scored 273 for 2, David Malan (103) and Gary Balance (74) are unbeaten at the end of the second day.
