5 things to keep in mind during Karwa Chauth 2023

Karwa Chauth is rapidly approaching, and we are eagerly anticipating it. Karwa Chauth is celebrated nationwide each year with great fanfare and extravagance.

Karwa Chauth honours a couple’s love and is particularly celebrated by married women. Karwa Chauth is celebrated with great fanfare in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. Married women observe a fast from sunrise to moonrise on this day. They break their fast only when they see the moon in the sky and accept food and water from their husbands. During Karwa Chauth, married women offer prayers to Lord Shiva for their husbands’ long lives.

Here are 5 important things to keep in mind while celebrating Karwa Chauth:

1. The colour red is associated with the Karwa Chauth festival because it is auspicious and is worn by women in the festivities. Married women can, however, also wear other colours, such as orange, pink, green, and yellow. They should stay away from white or black shades, though.

2. Since they are thought to be tamasic in nature, married women and their families should abstain from eating non-vegetarian food on this day.

3. Before breaking the fast in the evening, married women should take part in the Karwa Chauth puja and listen to the Katha. The Nirjala Vrat is incomplete if this ritual is not performed.

4. Prior to the start of the fast, consume as much water as you can. Fatigue and headaches can both be made worse by dehydration. Another excellent addition to your liquid intake is fresh fruit juice. In the interim, abstain from tea and coffee to avoid becoming acidic.

5. During the Karwa Chauth vrat, women are not allowed to use knives, scissors, or needles.
