7 Records broken by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in his lifetime

God of Cricket or Master Blaster, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is highly considered as one of the best batsmen of all time. Sachin’s professional career started at the age of 16 against Pakistan in Karachi in November 1989 and concluded in November 2013 against the West Indies at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar set several records during his 24-year career. Here is a list of the records he holds.

Sachin Tendulkar is the top run-scorer in the history of One-Day International cricket, with a career spanning from 1992 to 2012. Tendulkar scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83 in 463 ODI appearances, which is also a world record. Tendulkar even holds the record for most runs scored in Test matches, demonstrating his endurance and talent in cricket’s longest format. He has more than 2,500 more runs than second-placed Ricky Ponting and would almost certainly never be surpassed.

Tendulkar also holds the record for most centuries scored in 50-over cricket among all players who have played ODI cricket. His total of 49 hundreds is also unlikely to be surpassed. Tendulkar holds the world record of 51 Test centuries in addition to his 49 ODI centuries. His 100 hundreds in all forms of international cricket is the very first time such a feat had ever been achieved.

Tendulkar even set a world record for most 50s in an ODI career with 145 scores. Tendulkar’s 119 Test scores of 50 or more are also a world record, demonstrating his remarkable accuracy in the longest format. Ponting and Jacques Kallis, who both crossed 50 on 103 times, became his nearest rivals.

Tendulkar has become the first man to hit a double century in the 50-over form of the game in India’s ODI against South Africa in 2010. His 200*, which came from 147 balls and contained 25 fours and three sixes, helped India cruise to a 153-run victory.

Tendulkar seems set for success from a young age, and according to HowzStat, he still set the record for being the youngest player to cross fifty in a Test match. He was 16 years and 213 days old at the time. His 59 against Pakistan in Faisalabad was only his third Test innings, and he batted at No. 6 in the match, which ended in a draw.
