Silvio Berlusconi, the former president of AC Milan and the former prime minister of Italy, passed dead at the age of 86.
On June 12, 2023, the flamboyant media tycoon passed away in the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.
In April, Berlusconi was taken into medical care after suffering a lung infection related to a previously undisclosed case of chronic leukaemia.
He had an aortic valve surgery in 2016 and was admitted to the hospital in September 2020 with Covid.
Berlusconi, who got hitched on 2 occasions, is survived by 5 kids. His political career started with property development, and he went on to build Mediaset while also leading four governments over the course of his political career. He was first elected Prime Minister in 1994 and his second term from 2001 to 2006, was the longest served by an Italian leader after World War II.
Berlusconi was re-elected in 2008 but forced to leave in 2011 due to the financial crisis. Between 1986 and 2017, he was the owner of Serie A giants AC Milan. The team won 8 league titles, the Coppa Italia and 5 Champions League titles during that period.
