Hansal Mehta revealed that he has contracted stomach infection, which is because of lack of safe drinking water provided to the citizens of Mumbai. The filmmaker took to his Twitter handle to blame the unsafe drinking water for his infection. In his tweet, he tagged Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.
“I developed a terrible stomach infection this morning. It hit me before I’d even eaten. Spoke to my family doctor and he said that he is seeing at least 10 patients with similar symptoms everyday and some have been hospitalised. The infections seem to be from a bug originating in our drinking water,” read his tweet. He further added that it is ridiculous that a state with two deputy CMs cannot provide basic clean water. The filmmaker went on to slam the infrastructure of the city, citing crippling traffic, abysmal roads, and the lack of readiness for flooding.
